Need an opportunity for your kids to see their friends, and perhaps chat with other parents? Come by to an informal play date next week at Queen Mary: Thursday, Sept 1st at 10am - 12 noon. If you can, please bring a small snack to share. Looking forward to seeing you! PDF of the flyer is here.
As you prepare for going back to school, think about how much stuff got lost last year - two full tables' worth was on display every term! This is the perfect time to get prepared with labels. Try out some from Stickie Cool Label (stickie.ca), a small local company created by friends of Queen Mary. These are made of waterproof vinyl and it's super easy to order. Better yet, use coupon code "queenmary2016 " to get 15% off your order!
Before the viewing of The Princess Bride last Friday night, there was a showing of Queen Mary's own Super Green Team video! This was the effort of our Green Team, in cooperation with the Safe & Active School Travel Program that launched at our school last year. To learn more about the program, click here. More exciting things to come in 2016-2017!
If you missed the video, it can be viewed below or go directly to YouTube.
Hey, we wonder what "The Green Team" movie is about from Queen Mary? Showing next Friday night, before the screening of Princess Bride at Civic Plaza...
We are partnering with the grocery delivery service Spud this year! This will be widely promoted in mid-September, but for now you have a chance to give it a try and let us know what you think.
Whether you're an existing Spud customer or want to become a new Spud customer, you can order a produce box as often as you like to support Queen Mary! 25% of each produce box purchased will return to PAC.

We have already had a few questions about school supply lists for next fall! Please review the information posted to our website under Parent Resources.
Another fantastic year is over! PAC will not be sending emails again until next fall. Be sure to watch our Facebook feed and website for news over the summer, or send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Don't forget to save the date too: Wed, Sept 14 - Welcome Back Ice Cream Social!
Congrats! The Queen Mary Green Team was recently awarded a Living City grant from the City of North Vancouver. The funds are being used to create a Walk n' Roll Club to support students in transitioning to more active modes of transportation to commute to school and around the community.
This effort is getting started with a t-shirt! A letter recently went home asking students to help design a logo for the Walk n' Roll Club - something with a simple graphic design with bold, black lines. Submissions should be given to the office by Friday, June 24th. Time to get those imaginations going!
Join us for FREE fun games, activities, food and drink in the gym! All ages are welcome to come and enjoy the night.
While you are here, visit the Monster Book Fair to stock up for summer reading. Book Fair purchases will support materials for the library and our classrooms.
This week students can start creating Mystery Jars! Just fill a glass jar with small treats and treasures that you don't need anymore, then decorate the jar as you please. It's a fun way to reduce, reuse and recycle! Simply use a jar from home or pick one up in the library.
Please give completed jars to the office by June 10 for display at the Family BBQ. For just $1 or $2, students can take a different one home!
