Are your pre-teens (grades 4 or 5-7) in need of a safe space after school? Here are some resources you should know about in our community:
North Shore Neighbourhood House, in partnership with North Van Rec, has brought after school programs to Queen Mary for grades 3-5. Please note that as of this posting, the dance class is full but art and soccer still have a few spots.
To register, call North Van Rec at 604-987-7529, register online, or walk into a local recreation centre. You will need the 5-digit barcode noted below for each program. All are provided FREE of charge.
Students will meet in the 1st floor atrium for snacks and chat time prior to the start of programs (30 min after school is dismissed).
Come join us at the all ages Halloween Fair on October 30 at 5:00-7:00 pm! There will be games, costume and pumpkin contests, dancing and food. Support your community while having fun too.
As with all PAC events, students must be accompanied by an adult regardless of their grade level. Thanks for helping us keep everyone safe!
Now in its 10th year, the Queen Mary Family Learning Program starts again next week at St John's Church, located next to the school. This FREE program is offered on both Wed afternoons and Thurs mornings.
Are you ready to play?
Red Fox is back at Queen Mary! This fun active program teaches physical literacy and is offered FREE to students in grades 4-7. This weekly program runs every Thursday, from Oct 3-Nov 14 at 3:00-5:00 pm.
Limited spots, so register early online at Eventbrite.
Offered in partnership with the North Shore Neighbourhood House.
Individual and class photos will be taken throughout the day this Friday, Sept 20.
(Just in case, mark on your calendar that re-take day is Monday, Oct 28!)
Did you know that donations to PAC support both fun and learning at Queen Mary? We run free events like the Ice Cream Social, as well as purchase additional supplies as needed by the school.
Help us start the year off by contributing to our Direct Donation Drive - this is your chance to provide us with financial support instead of (or in addition to!) volunteering your time or buying anything.
Cash or cheque donations may be put in our office drop box, or go online to receive a tax-receipt.
In partnership with On The Go First Aid Training, PAC has organized a Babysitting Course for grade 6 students on Friday, October 4 from 8:45 am - 3:00 pm. This is a Queen Mary Pro-D Day (school is not regularly in session).
This is a great opportunity for students to learn about caring for younger children, as well as how to prevent and respond to emergecies. Students who attend will also be allowed to volunteer as childminders for General PAC Meetings. More info about the course can be found by clicking here. Get your spot now, as space is limited.
If the form sent home didn't quite make it to you, click here for a copy! Forms and payment are due Friday, September 27.
There are many fun lunch and afterschool programs now available to Queen Mary students. See our specially dedicated webpage to learn about what is available and how to register your child. The webpage will be updated as programs are announced.
For more information, contact the School Programs Coordinator at email@example.com.
We are back to school and that means the return of Fun Lunch! This PAC program gives you a break from packing lunch, with proceeds supporting activities at Queen Mary. More info here.
Ordering is done online through MunchaLunch; to login to your account or create a new one, go here: https://munchalunch.com/schools/QueenMary/
When you order, please consider donating to the Friends of Fun Lunch. Every $10 will provide a student in need with Fun Lunch for one month. Donate as little or as much as you can, when you can, to help our Queen Mary community. Simply click on Fundraising Open in the top menu to get started.
