Queen Mary Community Members,
Do you have a special area of knowledge or expertise that you’d be willing to share with Queen Mary students? Being able to connect concepts taught in class with real-world examples and opportunities is a terrific learning experience for students. Our teachers are currently looking for volunteers to come into their classrooms as guest speakers to support units of inquiry.
Please find linked here a list of job titles and areas our teachers are currently looking for help in. The time commitment is flexible and could range from a half hour to a morning or afternoon, and can be arranged to suit your schedule. If you, a family member, a neighbour, etc., would like to share your expertise in any of the areas, or if you have additional questions about volunteering, please contact me via phone or email.

Hurry, you have only until Friday of this week to get orders in for healthy, prepared meals from Well Fed! This is a great opportunity to have a few nights off from cooking dinner while also supporting the students of Queen Mary.
As always, funds raised by PAC return to our students by paying for school resources, special speakers and most importantly fun extracurricular activities!
Don't forget! To ensure your student receives a Fun Lunch next week on Wednesday, Jan 25 orders must be in MunchaLunch by midnight TOMORROW Jan 18.
Did you know that we partner with COBS at Lonsdale Quay? Through their Dough Raiser program, 5% of every purchase made by Queen Mary families come back to PAC. All you need to do is mention that you are with Queen Mary when buying your goodies. Now that's a sweet way to help out!
We have posted the minutes of the last General PAC Meeting, held last week on January 9. Our new Vice Principal, Tim Ireland, spoke about his background and experience as a counsellor. The minutes can be found here. Send us a note if you have any questions, firstname.lastname@example.org.
As we make the return to school and work this month, wouldn't it be nice to have a couple of dinners ready to go on those busy nights?
This month, PAC partners with Well Fed Studios to provide healthy frozen meals to go! Ordering couldn't be easier - just place your order through MunchaLunch anytime from January 13-27. The meals are delivered to school for pick up on February 6. Go here (www.munchalunch.com) to access your account. If you don't have an account, just go here (www.tinyurl.com/QueenMaryLunchReg) to create one.
All chicken and pork are free run, antibiotic and hormone free. Plenty of vegetarian options and family favourites to satisfy everyone! Here's a sneak peek at the January menu. Each entree is $17.50 (meatless) or $19.50 (meat/seafood) and serves 2-3. And 8% of the sales returns to PAC!
Let us know what you think of this new fundraiser. Menus change monthly, so we may give it another go later this year. Thanks for your support!
Don't forget that every Wednesday morning the Queen Mary Green Team is hosting a table to welcome students that walk, bike, scoot or take transit to school. Students can enter themselves for a prize draw done at noon!
Queen Mary needs help for the Food Access Program! If you are available from 8:30-9:00 am any day of the week, we could use your help with getting snack trays ready for the classrooms. No experience needed, just your helping hands!
