Yes, school is less than a week away and you may have no idea what to pack for snack or lunch! We have a few handy resources from Vancouver Coastal Health - print and post them on your fridge for great ideas. Then you just need to have time to get to the grocery store...
Don't panic! You don't have to go buy school supplies this year! Upon our return to school, a $55 fee to the school will be used by teachers to buy all students' supplies in bulk. This will ensure that each student has access to the same quality supplies.
If you do wish to buy your own, visit our Parent Resource page to find the relevant supplies list.
Every year, during every term, we see two full tables' worth of items in the Lost & Found - be prepared this year and get labels! Try out some from Stickie Cool Label (stickie.ca), a small local company created by friends of Queen Mary PAC. These are made of waterproof vinyl and it's super easy to order. Better yet, use coupon code "queenmary2017 " to get 15% off your order!
Need an opportunity for your kids to see their friends, and perhaps a chance for you to chat with other parents? Come by to an informal play date at Queen Mary on Thursday, August 31 at 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. If you can, please bring a small snack to share. Looking forward to seeing you!

During the end of the last school year, there has been more news coverage and general concern from parents about school capacity in North Vancouver. The reasons are many: years of school closures to fund rebuilds, rapid growth in the Lonsdale area, and the need to restore classroom size/composition.
To find solutions, we must point out the problem. To that end, parents have begun to voice concerns to the North Vancouver School District; please take a moment to read their letter.
This is only the beginning and we hope to hear your support for the need to do more.
