As you may have noticed this past week, the PAC email list is active and sending out notices. We thank you for sending in those PAC Contact Permission Forms promptly. That said, we sometimes can not decipher handwriting or we simply make a data entry error and then it becomes a huge task to accurately maintain nearly 400 emails.

Each year, PAC compiles a calendar of events that may be of interest to our families. The events are either sponsored by PAC or run in partnership with the Community Development Program. The one for the current year can be found here, or go to our website's Calendar of Events page. Get a copy and keep it handy!
The PAC Contact Permission Forms are starting to come in, but it will take until the end of this month to get our email database up. Meanwhile, here are this week's upcoming community events.

A printable PDF copy of the flyer can be found here. PAC is already receiving notes about community events from its partners! Since we are not quite ready to send weekly emails, event information will be posted here with relevant flyers. Here is the first set of the year:
Month of Sept: Youth Services Sept 12: Honey Fest at Loutet Farm Tues, starting Sept 15: Course for Families Dealing with Serious Mental Illness Wed, starting Sept 16: ADD/ADHD Parent Support Group Wed, Sept 16: Become a NewToBC Library Champion Tues, starting Sept 29: Grief Support Group Wed, starting Sept 23: Succesful Co-Parenting It is time to start packing school lunches again! Whether you are a kindergarten parent with no idea what to pack or a parent of an older child, we can all use some advice. There is more to lunch than sandwiches or yesterday’s leftovers. Take a look at Vancouver Coastal Health’s ‘Lunches to Go’ flyer for some ideas.
While you figure what goes into lunch, consider options that produce less garbage. Buy snacks in bulk and portion it into plastic containers or snack bags yourself. Send metal or plastic utensils that can be washed and reused. Forget the juice box and send drinks in a reusable container. Not only is this environmentally friendly, but also likely to cut out pre-packaged food that makes lunch healthier and saves you money in the long run. |
