There is a Coffee Morning this week on Tuesday at 8:45-9:30am, located in the library. Come meet special guests from the community, including a dietician from City Market who will be soliciting interest for FREE parent workshops related to packing healthy lunches and how to read food labels. See you there!
Family Photo Day has been exceedingly popular! As of this afternoon, all 28 time slots have been reserved by our Queen Mary families. If you are interested in being on a wait list, please contact us by email. PAC is processing sitting fees until Nov 4, after which we will begin to release time slots and will notify you of any openings.
There is an IB Primary Years Programme Information Session coming on Wed, Nov 4 at Queen Mary. This school year, both Queen Mary and Capilano are moving to a new assessment model featuring report cards without letter grades. Come learn more about what that means for your child! Parents from both Queen Mary and Capilano are invited to attend. Light refreshment and child minding provided. To ensure that we have enough seating, please RSVP.
A PDF version of the flyer may be found here.

Are you looking for an opportunity to be more involved at Queen Mary? PAC is seeking a Communications Officer; the ideal candidate will be comfortable managing websites, Facebook and email for us. For the right person, it only means about an hour or so of dedication a week.
If you don't think you can be a Communications Officer, there are plenty of other ways to help PAC! At this week's PAC Meeting, we will also discuss other positions in Fun Lunch, Safe & Active School Travel, IB Joint Committee and the School Planning Council. We also always have informal opportunities to help at PAC events, including this month's upcoming Halloween Dance.
Find out more at the PAC Meeting on Tuesday!
As school gets underway, it can become difficult to ensure that your child eats healthy food. Good snack choices are important for helping your child stay focused and able to learn. Here is a great resource from Vancouver Coastal Health - ‘Energizing Snack Choices’. Even better, keep a copy on your fridge for reference! NOTE: this is a 14 x 8.5 document, so be sure to shrink it to fit on 8.5 x 11.
